CEPEA: Final Stretch for Brazilian Coffee Harvest, Small Beans Cause Concern

CoffeeNetwork (New York) - With the Arabica coffee harvest in the final stretch, Cepea surveys point out reduced sieve, or bean size, has been a major concern for producers. Agents consulted by Cepea point out that this factor should impact the final volume harvested by Brazil in the 2024/25 harvest. For robusta, there are also reports of a lower percentage of beans with larger sieves, which should compromise the final closing of the season in terms of volume, in addition to hindering the sales of coffee already contracted, according to Cepea researchers.
